The prize identifies artistic paths characterised by internationality, generosity of thought, attention to social affairs and the pursuit of innovation, and is aimed at those who dedicate their research to overcoming oppositions arising from political, social and geographical affiliation. The artistic processes of the last two decades have been strongly characterised by historical, social and political changes and the tragedies that still see humanity as a protagonist.
There are no age, nationality or media limits in the nominations. Artists and performers, for the visual art and music sections, cannot self-nominate but access the selections through a web-based nomination system by recognised personalities from the music and art world. After passing the elimination stage, the artists’ works are presentedin a group exhibition, while the musical compositions of the contestants are presented in an event, concert, or sound space.
International juries and an audience vote identify the winners, who are commissioned a production to be presented as part of a solo exhibition and a piece for string orchestra or a musical sound intervention.
