part of Accademia della Luce, the Public Program of Luci d’Artista

The Education Department of the Fondazione Merz presents Disco Raro, a series of initiatives developed in response to themes emerging from Ice Cream Light by Vanessa Safavi.

The project forms part of Accademia della Luce, the Public Program of Luci d’Artista curated by Antonio Grulli and promoted by the Città di Torino in cooperation with the Education Departments of the city’s museums, coordinated by the Fondazione Torino Musei. The programme contributes to the festival through a participatory approach, enhancing the network of public light-based artworks across the city and fostering a sense of active citizenship.

The proposed project is is designed for people with a migrant background and aims to create an original LP pressed on vinyl, bringing together testimonies, poetic visions and critical reflections, and giving voice to a plurality of perspectives.

Through an autobiographical writing workshop in Spanish led by Hoja en Blanco, participants will produce texts that will subsequently be transformed into sound and arranged into tracks through a collaborative electronic music production process guided by Pony Esposito.
