Italian Council. Botto&Bruno “The ballad of forgotten places”

The ballad of forgotten places is the project created by artists Botto&Bruno, promoted by the Fondazione Merz and winner of the third edition of the Italian Council competition (2018), organised by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism, to promote Italian contemporary art in the world.

The ballad of forgotten places takes the form of a profound reflection on today’s world and the role of art as an instrument, not only for reading or narrating society, but also an indispensable engine for the aesthetic transformation of the present.

After the production and travel between Athens, Lisbon and Nice, the work has become part of the collections of the Musei Reali di Torino and is on display on the first floor of the Galleria Sabauda, in the Sala degli Stucchi.
